There is a 2-3 km trail at Smuts House Museum which takes you to the top of Smuts' contemplative koppie behind his house. The 2.3 km Oubaas Trail winds through dolomitic grassland. At the top of the Smuts Koppie is the obelisk in memory of the Smuts family. Dogs can walk off leash on clearly marked areas on the route.
